Astrophysics

Astronomy focuses on a wide range of sciences, being one of the oldest sciences known to man it was used in history to learn about many things and even helped create calendars. The topics in astronomy range anywhere from mathematics and physics to stars and comets, in this broad range it allows for many categories to qualify under astronomy and creates a sort of universal science branch. According to the dictionary definition astronomy is “the scientific study of matter in outer space, especially the positions, dimensions, distribution, motion, composition, energy, and evolution of celestial bodies and phenomena”. Just by the definition itself it explicitly states that physics is based on a broad range of studies.

As discussed above, Astronomy encompasses a wide array of subjects, one branch of astronomy, physical cosmology, stands out because it connects many different aspects of Astronomy and Physics. Physical cosmology diverts its attention to the formation and evolution of the universe as a whole rather than focusing solely on certain aspects. The origins of physical cosmology were said to come from Albert Einstein's theory of relativity and also the observations of astronomical objects he left behind. With Einstein's research and data scientists today were able to theorize how the Big Bang happened and explicitly state what the Big Bang nucleosynthesis referred to.
